Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Movie review

Highly directed nonsense filled with people you will recognize and a story that might make you chuckle.

Michael Cera doing what Michael Cera does best. Being awkward but funny at the same time. He isn’t the only character that is ridiculously over-the-top either. Just about every one of them is.

The story, as well as how it’s delivered, is so full of general silliness that it’s fun. It could be quite entertaining with the right group of friends. I watched it on my own so I’m sure it lost some of the hilarity. Piled high with overlay effects, complete with a running score and video game sounds throughout.

You follow Scott Pilgrim as he discovers the love of his life and has to battle the League of Evil Exes to qualify to be with her. Outside of that main point there’s far too many scattered occurrences to really give detail as to what happens, but it includes: a battle of the bands, a girl with purple hair, odd sleeping arrangements, goofy fight scenes, and 100+ mph skateboard tricks… and so much more!
